Dr Andrew Cane

Dr Cane graduated from the University of Dundee (Scotland) in 2001. After graduation he worked for 2 years as a senior house officer in restorative dentistry and oral surgery / oral medicine at Edinburgh Dental Institute. He then obtained through examination, membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. After working for 6 years in a private practice in Edinburgh he emigrated to Brisbane with his Australian wife.

Since moving to Brisbane in 2010 Andrew has worked in private practice in Brisbane, performing a wide range of restorative and cosmetic dentistry procedures. Dr Cane also works part – time teaching at the University of Queensland Dental School.

He is committed to providing ethical, gentle, conservative dentistry. He has invested a great deal of his time in attending continuing education courses, staying up to date with the latest developments in dentistry. Andrew particularly enjoys restorative/cosmetic dentistry and educating patients on how to help maintain a healthy smile for life. Dr Cane often gets compliments for his painless injections and treatment.

In his spare time Dr Cane enjoys spending time with his young family and visiting the coast at the weekends. He enjoys playing golf, skiing and supporting the Reds.

Nikki Cane

Nikki graduated with a BSc in Oral Health Science from University of Dundee (Scotland) in 2007. After graduation, she participated in a year postgraduate training to cement her dental skills.

The services Nikki provides is hygienist treatment for children and adults, examination and treatment for children including pulpotomy, primary teeth extractions, fillings and stainless steel crowns. Direct fillings on adults, tooth whitening, and mouth guards.

Nikki spends time with patients to ensure they have a positive dental experience. She particularly enjoys working with special needs and nervous patients to put them at ease. Nikki has a reputation for having a gentle and calming way with her patients.

Nikki has worked in private practice in Scotland and Brisbane and works part-time for Queensland Health in the school dental service. She works part-time in the practice and can see patients by request.

Outside of work Nikki and her husband are kept busy by their active 2 boys and Beaglier.

Jayna Lopa-Skinner

Jayna is a highly valued member of the Ascot Dental team, moving to Brisbane from New Zealand in 2015. Jayna holds a Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting and is currently studying for Certificate IV. She is loving learning new skills and is aiming to progress further in the profession.
