General & Preventative Dentistry
In order to help you maintain a healthy mouth we offer quality general and preventative dentistry. Before we start any necessary treatments we like to carry out a comprehensive examination of your dental condition. This allows you to understand what is happening in your mouth and what is likely to happen in the future. We listen to your concerns and expectations. Having this information allows you to decide which is the best treatment option for you.
Preventative dental treatments such as scaling and cleaning, application of fluoride, fissure sealants and the use of strengthening toothpastes are the best way to maintain the health of your mouth. We have a section on our website (top ten tooth tips) with some useful diet choices and good habits to maintain a healthy smile.
Hygiene & Active Maintainance
Active maintenance is used as a dental term to encourage patients to understand that regular attention is required in order to maintain the health of teeth and gums.
A combination of at home maintenance (daily brushing and flossing) and professional “cleaning” and treatment will help ensure your mouth, and the body it is connected to, are in optimum condition. Information on diet and good oral hygiene practices can be given by our team.
Root Canal Treatment
When the nerve of a tooth becomes irreversible damaged then in order to keep the tooth pain free a root canal treatment can be carried out. Root canal treatment can relieve severe toothache in one appointment and enable you to keep your own tooth, which prevents the future unwanted consequences of loosing a tooth.
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns can be used to restore teeth that have cracks and are likely to, or have broken. A crown covers the entire tooth surface to offer protection and strength. They can also improve the appearance of a heavily filled tooth.
A bridge can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge is attached to your natural teeth on either side of the gap. The bridging or artificial tooth is attached to the anchor teeth filling the gap between your natural teeth.
Tooth Whitening
This is the least invasive way to potentially dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. In our experience the take home whitening method works best for most people and gives you control of how white
you wish your teeth to go and target specific teeth.
Mouthguards & Occlusal Splints
Dental trauma can be prevented by wearing a custom made, well fitting mouthguard . Whatever sports you may play, our dentists can advise as to whether wearing a mouth guard is essential.
Occlusal splints can help protect the very damaging effects caused by clenching or grinding of teeth.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry is elective treatment aimed at improving the appearance of your smile. Improving the appearance of your smile can have a positive affect on your wellbeing. There are many different options available to do this. The pros and cons of each option can be
explained to you allowing you to make an informed choice.
Paediatric Dentistry
Our team welcomes children to come and visit us from an early age. The sooner the better, as prevention is always the best approach. We go out of our way to make sure your child is happy and relaxed during their visit. All treatment will be thoroughly explained. We also have an Oral Health Therapist who is trained to treat children. She is available to see your children for routine appointments.
Emergency Appointment
We try to see emergency patients as soon as possible. We understand how debilitating toothache can be. For those people who have regular maintenance visits the chance of an unexpected, inconvenient toothache is much less likely to occur.
